Full-Time
FACULTY INSTRUCTOR
The Faculty Instructor represents the senior field staff position for the Baltimore (BCBOBC) and Philadelphia (POBC) Centers with a focus
on providing the highest level of program delivery to our students and customers. This full-time position is primarily responsible for the
instruction, organization & implementation of any and all programs and courses delivered by the Philadelphia or Baltimore Centers. Roles
served by this position include but are not limited to expedition instructor, insight instructor, program manager, specialist, course
director, staff trainer, support and other duties as needed and determined by the senior program staff. A commitment to the Outward Bound
philosophy and curriculum are key to success in this position. $19,600 salary and benefits.
Qualifications: BCBOBC and POBC are looking for energetic individuals who are flexible, work well with a variety of people and can travel;
must carry current WFR (Wilderness First Responder) certification or higher; must have 2 years experience working in a wilderness setting
with youth; Outward Bound experience preferred; skills in backpacking, canoeing, campcraft, leadership development, teambuilding, high
ropes, rock climbing and navigation are preferred; must pass a background check and motor vehicle check.

Center-Based / Insight Instructors
We run seasonal programs during the spring, summer and fall. Pay for seasonal positions is a per diem rate (including room and board) based upon experience.
LEAD INSTRUCTORS
Lead Instructors are accountable and responsible for expedition groups, staff supervision and development. This seasonal position is expected
to provide quality programming as well as to understand and abide by the Outward Bound philosophy, methodologies and curriculum. Positions generally run March through November, with some exceptions for the summer or fall season depending on program needs. Inquire for current openings.
Qualifications: Experience working with urban youth; at least 2 years experience and willingness to work in the outdoors for multiple days;
able to demonstrate competencies in a vast range of outdoor skills and challenge course activities; able to manage groups in a variety of
settings; current certification as a WFR (Wilderness First Responder) or higher; WSTAR (Wilderness Safety Training & Aquatic Rescue or
lifeguard preferred).

INSTRUCTORS
To assist Lead Instructors in the development and implementation of expeditions using the Outward Bound mission and philosophies. This seasonal
position is expected to support other programmatic needs when necessary. Positions generally run March through November, with some exceptions depending on program needs.
Qualifications: Experience working with youth; experience and willing to work in the outdoors for extended periods of time; current certification
in CPR and first aid or higher; WFR (Wilderness First Responder).

CENTER-BASED / INSIGHT INSTRUCTORS
Insight Instructors are responsible for assisting the Program Manager in designing and implementing the Urban Centers' curriculum for a variety
of participants. This seasonal position facilitates our day programming which includes ground initiatives as well as our action learning course
(low & high ropes elements). These positions are open in the Spring and Fall.
Qualifications: Experience working with youth involving a leadership development based program; knowledge of high ropes, low ropes and use of
initiatives; current certification in CPR and first aid or higher; WFR (Wilderness First Responder).
