EDUCATOR PROGRAMS

In addition to working with students, Outward Bound also offers multi-day expeditions and 1-day Insight Programs designed for teachers and school administrators from Maryland.

These programs provide school staff, teachers and administrators the opportunity to personally experience Outward Bound. Through the principle of "learning by doing", course participants can expect not only to benefit professionally, but also personally.

The Educator programs explore BCBOBC's leadership curriculum and encourage participants to transfer the power of their own Outward Bound experience to their schools and students' lives. Educators are encouraged to take the lessons learned, the methods employed and the values exercised back to the learning environments in which they work.

The 2010 Educator Wilderness Expedition will be a 7-day Canoe expedition on the Potomac River in Western Maryland. The expedition will take place:

Monday, August 9th 2010 to Sunday, August 15th 2010.

The value of this course is approximately $1225.00; however, there may be funds available to help subsidize the cost to educators.
